Michael served for 38 years in various operational and corporate positions for Sunrise Community, Inc., one of the largest not-for-profit organizations in the United State which provides services for people with developmental disabilities. During his final ten years with the organization, he was Division Vice-President responsible for operations in six states and Vice-President responsible for Corporate Human Resources and IT functions for 2,500 employees.
Prior to serving as Vice President, his accomplishments include: Purchasing and renovating more than $14,000,000 (in 2024 dollars) of community homes, day programs and office buildings and initiating and serving as Chief Learning Officer of Sunrise University, an in-house educational platform for employee development.
Before joining Sunrise, Michael served as Project Coordinator for a nationally certified educational program that was developed for students with disabilities and shared the program with educators throughout Florida and in other states.
Michael served for eight years as a Board Member of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami, including two years as Vice-Chairperson.
He earned his B.S. in Education at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and his M.A. in Education at the University of South Florida.
